Lee Heon (Lee Young Dae) is a king who has many treacherous ministers. Even the Minister killed the Crown Princess being framed by Suicide. Due to the death of the Crown Princess Lee Heon was terrified that even every year several ladies-in-waiting were killed on the crown princess' death anniversary.

Every day he always asked to get married, because it is annoyed he gives a ridiculous decree that is a ban on marriage for seven years, many men and women are trapped because they are secretly in love and are collected in prison for special love.

Even his trusted maid ordered the girl to become Lee Heon's concubine, but because of his hatred of women, King Lee Heon immediately slapped and even almost killed the woman who wanted to seduce him.

In the Outside of palace, many said that the king had impotence and even liked men. Even though they didn't know that the root of the problem started since the Crown Princess' good name was destroyed. She haunts Lee Heon every night and the King always cries when he wakes up because of guilt.

On the other hand, Ye Sorang (Park Ju Hyun) is the son of a famous nobleman who almost married the King's bodyguard, but his cunning mother made him fall into the abyss and was saved by a fortune teller.

She eventually turns into a deceiver and looks for a mate for those who are still single because he is determined to make a lot of money. SHe even wrote love letters and then sent them illegally to couples who had ordered his services to get true love.

Because of that he was imprisoned, to escape from prison he made a false prediction about the crown princess who was in pain because she was trapped in the King's memories. Then, hearing about the lie the king began to believe Sorang and even made him a maid who accompanies him when he sleeps.

Sorang who originally just wanted to be free becomes a regular maid so that King Lee Heon can meet the spirit of the Crown Princess. More and more lies, which was originally just a joke, make someone trapped in the fantasy of the King who secretly starts to like him.

She finds out that there are no spirits that exist only Nightmare king Lee Heon. Every day someone tells a funny story, invites Lee Heon to drink together, teaches how to fight with a sword, and even many other things to make the king tired and finally sleep well and slowly forget all about the Crown Princess.

Day after day passed Sorang has become a part of Lee heon they even kissed each other even though it was not on purpose. However, the palace guard Lee Shin Won who used to love Sorang begins to know the big secret that has been hiding that he is almost became his future wife.

But Sorang only look at Lee Shin Woo as a friend. Lee Shin Won was assigned by King Lee Heon to protect Sorang from the Minister's attack that would kill anyone the King loved. Even when hunting they deliberately released a wild boar to insult the king.

But the king will revenge by uncovering the truth behind the crown princess case. Meanwhile, Sorang is still trying to escape by getting the king to marry quickly through a book about marriage that can produce children.

And soon there will be a female bodyguard who has the same face as the former crown princess that will shake the heart of the king who starts to have feelings for Sorang.
